Photos and Details of the Volkswagen Arteon

Following the Dieselgate scandal, Volkswagen is making significant strides to move forward and strengthen its brand image and profitability, along with freshening up its lineup with some brand-new models. The company’s 2018 Atlas, a midsize SUV, has already hit the market, and the all-new Arteon sedan will follow.

The 2019 Volkswagen Arteon will replace the CC – which is essentially an upscale Passat – as the automaker’s flagship luxury sedan. The Arteon is larger than the CC and the Passat, however. Its wheelbase is 5.2 inches longer than the outgoing CC, but the Arteon is only 2.4 inches longer overall, due to minimized front and rear overhangs.

Though details for the Euro-spec Arteon have already been released, precise specifications for the U.S. model aren’t yet available. American sales are expected to start in the summer of 2018, which means some details could change before the Arteon makes its way to our shores, but our research should give you a reasonable idea of what to expect.
