Test drivers praise the 2015 Volvo XC60 for its simple, elegant interior that features high-quality materials, including soft-touch surfaces, as well as available wood trim and two-tone leather upholstery. They say all seats are comfortable and its rear seat offers plenty of room for adults. According to automotive journalists, the XC60's audio and climate controls are convenient and easy to use on lower trims, but some say the optional navigation system complicates some audio functions.

The 2015 Volvo XC60 seats five and comes standard with power-adjustable front seats. Optional features include integrated child booster seats, heated front and rear seats, leather upholstery and a heated steering wheel. Automotive writers agree that the 2015 XC60's front seats remain comfortable during long-distance travel. Its rear seat is exceptionally spacious for the class and has plenty of head- and legroom, they report. Still, some critics note that, unlike some rivals, the XC60's rear seatbacks don’t recline.

Interior Features

Standard features on the 2015 Volvo XC60 include an eight-speaker audio system, Volvo’s Sensus infotainment system with a 7-inch display screen, Bluetooth, a USB/iPod input and satellite radio. All XC60 models also come with City Safety, which can automatically apply the brakes in attempt to avoid a low-speed collision. Volvo's upgraded Sensus Connect infotainment system comes standard on 2015.5 XC60 models, which provides smartphone app integration and a Wi-Fi hot spot. Available features include a voice-controlled navigation system, front and rear park assist, a 12-speaker Dolby Pro-Logic II surround sound audio system and a dual-screen, rear-seat DVD entertainment system. Other optional features include a rearview camera, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, a driver drowsiness detection system and collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, which uses radar to scan for cyclists or pedestrians in your path and apply the brakes if necessary.

Test drivers say the XC60's ‘mode man’ climate controls make it easy for passengers to adjust the direction of air flow. Audio controls are also intuitive, they add. However, critics think the available navigation system and the multifunction knob used to control features like audio selections are difficult to use.

The 2015 XC60 has 30.8 cubic feet of space with the rear seat in use. With 67.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seat folded, the Volvo XC60 offers more overall cargo space than most rivals. Test drivers say the cargo hold feels cavernous, even with the rear seat in use. They also like the versatility of the 40/20/40-split rear seat. However, a few critics report that small-item and under-floor storage are lacking.
