2010 Volkswagen CC Overview

When it was new, reviewers were taken with the coupe-like profile that gives the 2010 Volkswagen CC a more striking appearance than many of its rivals. Inside however, they discovered that the CC’s sloping roofline limits rearward visibility and headroom in the back seat. Still, most found that the CC’s cabin is comfortable, spacious and upscale.

The CC comes with either a 200-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a 280-horsepower V6. Critics generally liked both engines, saying that the CC had adequate power. All-wheel drive is available on V6 models only, while all others are front-wheel drive. A six-speed manual came with the base model when it was new, while six-speed automatic and automated manual transmissions were available. The CC gets up to 22/31 mpg city/highway with the turbo-four and an automated manual transmission, which is quite good for the class. Maximum trunk space in the CC is 13 cubic feet, which is a bit below the class average.

The base model comes standard with heated front seats, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, satellite radio and an auxiliary input jack. Features available as options and on upper trims include a power sunroof, dual-zone climate control, leather seats, navigation with a 30-gigabyte hard drive, a USB port, and a Dynaudio stereo with 10 speakers.

Other Cars to Consider

If you like the CC but need something with more back-seat space, check out the 2010 Audi A4. Critics said the A4 can carry up to five passengers and has better rearward visibility, though its trunk is slightly smaller than the CC’s. They praised its upscale interior and refined, sporty driving demeanor.

If you’re looking for something a bit sportier, consider the 2010 Infiniti G37. Many critics regarded the G37 as one of the sportiest cars in the segment, thanks to its nimble handling and powerful engine. Available with all-wheel drive and as a sedan, coupe or convertible, the G37 should appeal to a wide range of buyers. Additionally, the sedan can also seat up to five, which may make it a bit more practical than the CC.
