Which Used Toyota Yaris Trim Is Right for Me?

The 2019 Toyota Yaris sedan comes in three trims: L, LE, and XLE. The base L trim has enough features to satisfy most shoppers. Higher trim levels don’t add enough to make them worth the additional expense.

  • Toyota Yaris L: The base L trim comes standard with a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system, two USB ports, Bluetooth, satellite radio, HD Radio, six speakers, voice recognition, front sport seats, cloth upholstery, cruise control, a rearview camera, low-speed forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.
  • Toyota Yaris LE: The LE trim adds push-button start, fog lights, and a rear spoiler.
  • Toyota Yaris LXE: The LXE trim adds synthetic leather upholstery for the front seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, automatic climate control, rain-sensing windshield wipers, automatic headlights, and daytime running lights.

What Does Toyota's Certified Pre-Owned Warranty Cover?

Toyota offers a certified pre-owned program for vehicles six years old or less and with fewer than 85,000 miles. Eligibility is determined by the vehicle’s initial sale date. Toyota provides a one-year/12,000-mile limited warranty on all its certified pre-owned vehicles, and it extends the original new-car powertrain warranty to seven years from the initial sale date or 100,000 miles. Each CPO Toyota must pass a 160-point inspection. Additional benefits like a CarFax vehicle history report, towing, and roadside assistance may be available, so read the Toyota warranty page carefully.

Toyota’s CPO program is about average for an affordable carmaker, according to our research. Hyundai and Kia both have better programs.

Which Is Better: 2019 Toyota Yaris or 2019 Toyota Corolla?

Not only does the Corolla hatchback deliver more cargo room than the sedan-only Yaris, but it also has a stronger engine, better fuel economy numbers, and a longer list of standard features. If you’re shopping for a sedan, however, you’ll want to stick with the Yaris, which has more athletic handling, superior gas mileage, and nicer cabin materials. The Yaris sedan is also more affordable, on average, than the Corolla sedan.

Which Is Better: 2019 Toyota Yaris or 2019 Honda Fit?

The Honda offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which are both unavailable in the Toyota. Furthermore, the Fit has sharper steering and more nimble handling than the Yaris.
