Buying Advice

Class-Leading Sales: The Toyota Camry is dominating the midsize car sales race, even though Camry sales have remained constant this year compared to the same period in 2018. The Camry is outselling its nearest competitor, the Honda Accord, by about 37%, and is the single best selling non-crossover vehicle in the United States market.

Average Prices: Pricing for the Camry starts at $24,095, which is about average among comparable cars. Its top-tier model costs a little bit more than rivals ($34,850), but it’s one of the few options in the segment where you can still get a V6 engine.

Time to Buy: As the winner of our 2019 Best Midsize Car for the Money award and a finalist for our 2019 Best Midsize Car for Families award, the Camry is an all-around excellent choice. For a lower price, consider the well-ranked Hyundai Sonata. The Sonata has experienced steady sales this year compared to the same span in 2018, and you may be able to find a good deal when shopping around.
