The RLX’s advanced braking systems monitor a driver’s emergency braking and fully apply the antilock brakes if they sense the driver hasn’t stepped on the brake pedal with enough pressure to prevent an impact.

Though the car will automatically apply the brakes if a collision is unavoidable, the active safety features are not meant to replace the driver’s constant attention and engagement in the task of driving. Acura says they are intended to help the driver become more alert and provide helpful warnings.
