2009 and 2013 Honda Fit

The Honda Fit consistently rates among the best used small cars in our rankings. The 2009 model placed No. 1 among Used Small Cars Under $10K, while the 2013 Fit earned the top spot among Used Small Cars $14K and Up.

The Fit achieves the trifecta of what a good used small car should offer: Driving dynamics, fuel-economy, and cargo space. It also got a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine in 2009 that improved upon the outgoing engine’s 109 hp with 115 hp, and improved NHTSA crash test ratings as well. The Fit’s cabin is one of the most spacious in its class, even in the back row. The standard Magic Seat allows for different configurations to accommodate cargo.

Both models earned our Best Subcompact Car for the Money award when they were new. The 2013 Fit was also named our Best Hatchback for the Money.
