When You Need to Carry the Whole Team

Back in the days of front bench seats, just about every vehicle sold claimed it could carry six passengers. Granted, not everyone would find the accommodations comfortable, but six people would fit. Then bucket seats became popular and the passenger count for most sedans and coupes dropped to five. It was still possible to buy a vehicle that carried six or more people, but usually that meant opting for a station wagon, minivan, or sport utility vehicle.

That is still the case. Almost every six-passenger vehicle that follows is a crossover or sport utility vehicle, though one hatchback sedan did make the list. We've selected them based on their performance in U.S. News & World Report rankings. Here is a list that every large family or carpooler will need to check out.
