8 SUVs That Need an Update

9 of 9

Nissan Juke

Nissan’s odd-looking little SUV has been popular with buyers attracted to its sporty handling, punchy acceleration, and quiet interior. Poor performance in the latest crash tests, however, are revealing the Juke’s age.

The Juke feels surprisingly sporty and refined –and gets an impressive 30 mpg in combined driving (for front-wheel-drive models.) It’s not as loud or bouncy as many other subcompact SUVs. The tradeoff, even for those who don’t mind its looks, is a tiny rear seat and miniscule cargo space. Its diminutive size only accents its Poor crash test performance.

Nissan is reportedly working on an update for the Juke, but it’s not clear when it will come or how much it will maintain its funky appearance.
