2010 Subaru Outback Overview

The 2010 Subaru Outback comes with a four-cylinder engine and a manual transmission. For 2010, an available continuously variable transmission (CVT) was introduced, which helps the Outback earn 22/29 mpg city/highway. Reviewers said that the four-cylinder and CVT provide enough passing power to keep most drivers happy. The available six-cylinder engine was a bonus for some test drivers, but others thought the additional power was unnecessary since the four-cylinder performed so well. Test drivers also noted that standard all-wheel drive and a high ground clearance make the Outback better-suited to inclement weather and light off-roading than most wagons.

Compared with the 2009 model, reviewers loved the extra back-seat legroom in the redesigned 2010 Outback. They also noted that the redesigned Subaru Outback offers comfortable seating and ample cargo space. The Outback has 34.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind its second row, which is good for the class. Standard features include a height-adjustable driver’s seat, CD player, auxiliary input jack, under-floor storage and 60/40 split-fold rear seat with reclining seat back. Available features include Bluetooth capability, a nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with a six-disc CD changer, navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather-trimmed upholstery and heated front seats.
