2009 Saturn Sky Overview

The 2009 Saturn Sky is outfitted with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 173 horsepower. Some reviewers said this engine is underpowered, especially on the highway. Other reviewers thought the engine has enough power, but that it is too loud and rough. The Red Line model has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 260 horsepower. Reviewers favored that engine over the base. Test drivers didn’t like the standard manual transmission and recommended the automatic. The Sky has fuel economy ratings as high as 19/29 mpg, which is good for the class. Reviewers liked the Sky’s soft suspension and responsive steering. Overall, they said the ride quality is really smooth.

For the most part, automotive reviewers liked the Sky’s interior finishes, but a few thought it has too much hard plastic. According to most test drivers, the seats are comfortable and supportive. With the top up, the Sky has 5.4 cubic feet of trunk space, and when the top is lowered, the trunk shrinks to only 2 cubic feet of space. Reviewers complained about the difficulty of storing the Sky’s manual soft top in the trunk. The 2009 Saturn Sky comes standard with full power accessories, air conditioning, a six-speaker audio system and satellite radio. Available features include Bluetooth, a seven-speaker Monsoon audio system and leather seat inserts.
