More on Compact SUVs

Compact SUVs tend to offer a high seating position, which provides a vast view of the road in addition to an easier step-in height than smaller cars or larger SUVs. These SUVs can be equipped with a variety of powertrains to fit your driving priorities, be they fuel economy, daily comfort, or rugged off-roading.

They are available with many interior tech and safety features that can be useful to families both small and large. Over the past several years, two-row SUVs have acquired standard or available features that were previously found only in luxury cars. For example, a rearview camera is a common standard feature, and there are a wide variety of high-tech safety features available in most models.

Our rankings are based on analysis of third party reviews. Sometimes, we are unable to find enough reviews to publish a definitive ranking. Please check back later, as we are constantly updating our reviews.

Safety scores should only be compared between vehicles of similar size and weight. Larger, heavier vehicles generally provide more protection than smaller, lighter ones.
