Scorecard

Interior: 8.2

The 2017 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid's cabin is full of soft-touch materials. The interior design is elegant and high-quality materials are used throughout. The leather seats are comfortable and the eight, 14-, or 18-way adjustable seats ensure ultimate comfort and support no matter how long a journey you're on. The infotainment system is full of knobs and buttons that may appear overwhelming at first but are easy to use once you familiarize yourself with them. The Cayenne E-Hybrid's smartphone integration capabilities are impressive, ranging from integrated navigation to the ability to lock the Cayenne's doors from your phone.

  • "Porsche's interior design and build quality are among the best in the world, combining an artistic aesthetic with sumptuous, finely stitched leather and real wood and metal accents." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "The interior is brimming with attractive, soft-touch surfaces. Nearly every plastic trim piece on the entry models can be replaced by leather, wood, carbon fiber or simulated suede." -- Edmunds
  • "With a posh interior inspired by the Panamera sedan, the Cayenne sports a long, sloping center console and a plethora of buttons and switches thanks to the lack of an iDrive-style control system." -- Left Lane News (2016)

Seating

The 2017 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid seats five and comes standard with leather upholstery, eight-way power-adjustable front seats, a leather steering wheel and shift knob, and driver's seat memory settings. Available features include heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and 14- or 18-way power-adjustable front seats.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid's seats are extremely comfortable, and the optional Adaptive Sport seats allow drivers to achieve their ideal seating position through multiple configuration options. The rear seats are just as comfortable, with plenty of room for two tall passengers. Additionally, the rear seats are spacious and slide forward and backward, creating either more cargo space or more legroom.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid has ample room for child seats, with two sets of LATCH anchors in the rear outboard seats that are easy to access and connect. The three top tethers are also easy to access. Porsche also offers the Porsche Baby Seat and Porsche Junior Seat ISOFIX that comes with its own five-point seat belt system for added child safety.

  • "The standard eight-way power seats are extremely comfortable, but 18-way sport seats are available for those who want their seating positions just right. The sculpted rear seats not only recline, but also slide fore and aft to create extra rear cargo space."-- Edmunds (2016)
  • "Rear passengers aren't forgotten, with a sliding and reclining seat and a pair of LCD screens in the front headrests." -- Kelley Blue Book (2016)
  • There was ample room for two adults in the rear seats, but no third row is offered." -- MarketWatch (2012)

  • The console provides the needed real estate for the swath of buttons that control everything from the dual climate zones to suspension settings. It may appear daunting at first, but the layout is very logical and becomes second nature in little time. Cargo

The Cayenne E-Hybrid has 20.5 cubic feet of cargo space and 59.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. This is one of the smallest cargo spaces in the class. However, the air suspension lowers the vehicle and makes it easier to load. Additionally, there is a power liftgate available. • Buyers who prioritize space should be warned the hybrid drivetrain reduces cargo capacity to 20.5 cubic feet with five occupants on board and 59.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat." -- Left Lane News (2016)
  • "One downside is the just under 60 cubic feet of storage with the rear seats down, a bit below the competition." -- MarketWatch (2012)
