2013 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid Overview

The 2013 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid’s gas/electric powertrain makes plenty of power, according to most reviewers. At an EPA-estimated 20/24 mpg city/highway, the 2013 Cayenne Hybrid’s fuel economy is fairly good for the class overall but may be less than what you’d expect from a hybrid. Some reviewers said the Cayenne Hybrid has nimble handling, but others complained that its steering feels numb, its regenerative brakes have an odd pedal feel and that overall, it isn’t as sporty as the non-hybrid Cayenne or some other SUVs in the class.

The 2013 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid’s interior is attractive and has high-quality materials, reviewers said. A few noted that the dashboard is cluttered with buttons and switches, but others preferred the extra buttons to the confusing single-knob and touch-screen tech controls offered by many rivals. Both the front and rear seats were praised as comfortable and supportive. The Cayenne Hybrid’s standard features include Bluetooth, leather upholstery, a 7-inch touch screen and an auxiliary input jack. Features like a rearview camera and navigation are available. The 2013 Cayenne Hybrid’s cargo space is on the low end of the class.

Other SUVs to Consider

The gas-only 2013 Porsche Cayenne has the same upscale and comfortable interior as the Cayenne Hybrid, but gets much better performance reviews. Additionally, with its available diesel engine, the Cayenne gets better fuel economy than the Cayenne Hybrid.

For a hybrid SUV with better fuel economy, consider the 2013 Lexus RX Hybrid. Its performance is more focused on comfort than the Cayenne Hybrid’s is, but reviewers praised its luxuriously quiet cabin and smooth ride.
