Engine and Acceleration

All Porsche 911 Turbo models are equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, and an unbelievably responsive and smooth-shifting seven-speed automatic transmission. The 911 Turbo delivers a potent 540 horsepower, while the Turbo S churns out 580. According to the EPA, the Turbo nets 19 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway.

For 2017, all Turbo models come standard with the Sport Chrono package. The Sport Chrono package allows the driver to choose between Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, and Individual driving modes, using a knob on the steering wheel. This gives you the ability to customize your driving experience. The system also includes a Sport Response button for instant gratification.

The Turbo can hit 60 mph from a standstill in 2.9 seconds and boasts a top speed of 198 mph. The Turbo S pulls off the zero-to-60 sprint in 2.8 seconds and tops out at 205 mph. These numbers are considerably more impressive when compared to all production vehicles on the road today. The Turbo S is faster than the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and nearly matches the acceleration of the all-electric Tesla Model S.
