2011 Nissan Titan Review

The 2011 Nissan Titan is a competent truck, but other full-size trucks offer more body styles and engine choices.

Pros & Cons

  • Powerful, standard V8 engine
  • Low-quality interior

2011 Nissan Titan Overview

Reviewers said that the 2011 Nissan Titan has decent handling for a large truck, and some said its ride is fairly comfortable. Still, others thought that the suspension is a bit too stiff. Unlike many rivals, the 2011 Titan does not offer multiple engine choices, but reviewers liked its standard V8, and said it provided plenty of power for all situations. The Titan averages up to 13/18 mpg city/highway, which is low for a full-size, V8-powered truck. The Titan can tow up to 9,500 pounds, which is less than a properly-equipped Chevrolet Silverado or Ford F-150.

Reviewers gave the Titan’s cabin mixed reviews. Some noted that the design is simple and straightforward, but some also commented that most interior panels are adorned with cheap, hard plastics. Unlike most full-size pickups, the 2011 Titan was not offered with a three-seat regular cab configuration, but only as an extended cab or a crew cab, with seating for up to six. Some reviewers mentioned that the front bucket seats offer more comfort and support than the available bench seat. The base trim comes with air conditioning and a six-speaker stereo system with a CD player. Available features include power windows, door locks and mirrors, front bucket seats, leather seats, a 10-speaker Rockford Fosgate stereo with satellite radio, Bluetooth, dual-zone automatic climate control, a moonroof, navigation and a rear-seat entertainment system.

Other Trucks to Consider

Test drivers said that the 2011 Ford F-150 offers powerful engine choices and a high-quality interior. Additionally, the F-150 has one of the highest towing capacities in the class.

Reviewers said the 2011 Toyota Tundra has a spacious cabin with user-friendly controls, and an available V8 makes the Tundra exceptionally quick. The Tundra also earns better safety sFcores than the Titan.
