2012 Nissan Rogue Overview

Powering the 2012 Nissan Rogue is a four-cylinder engine that’s mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Critics said that while the engine provides decent acceleration around town, the Rogue lacks vigor when passing and hill climbing. They also noted that its CVT is noisy, though some said that it makes good use of the engine’s power. With 23/28 mpg city/highway, the front-wheel drive 2012 Rogue earns good fuel economy estimates for the class. Most members of the automotive press found the Rogue's handling to be car-like and well-composed. They also liked its responsive steering, though some said the Rogue’s ride could be more poised over imperfect roads.

Reviewers said the 2012 Nissan Rogue's interior materials are of fairly good quality, including numerous soft-touch materials throughout the cabin. The Rogue's front and rear seats are comfortable and supportive, according to test drivers, though some noted that rear visibility is limited due to large roof pillars. Standard features on the Nissan Rogue include a CD/MP3 stereo with an auxiliary input, cruise control and steering wheel-mounted controls. Available features include satellite radio, a USB port, Bluetooth and an Around View 360-degree monitor to ease parking maneuvers. Reviewers said the Rogue features clear gauges and controls that are easy to use. The Rogue doesn’t have the most cargo space in the class, but reviewers were pleased with its 57.9 cubic feet of space with the second row folded. Additionally, test drivers noted the Rogue's numerous convenient small-storage spaces, including a large glove box and center console.

Other SUVs to Consider
