2019 Nissan Rogue Sport Performance Review

With its focus on comfort over athleticism, the 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport doesn't live up to its name. While this Nissan has compliant handling, there is minimal steering feedback. Additionally, its engine has only adequate power at low and moderate speeds and is underpowered on the highway. One performance-related highlight is the continuously variable transmission, which mimics the shifts of a traditional automatic transmission.

Acceleration and Power

The Rogue Sport comes with a weak 141-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. With it, the Rogue Sport is slow to accelerate and struggles to pass vehicles at high speeds. It's paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) that doesn't contribute to a loud engine drone like many CVTs do.

The front-wheel-drive Rogue Sport delivers 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, which is about average for the class. All-wheel-drive models get 1 less mpg in the city and 2 less mpg on the highway.
