2013 Nissan Cube Review

Test drivers liked the 2013 Nissan Cube’s unique styling and ample cabin space, but said it isn't all that fun to drive and could use more power on the highway.

Pros & Cons

  • Spacious cabin
  • Large cargo hold
  • Lackluster handling
  • Sluggish highway acceleration

2013 Nissan Cube Overview

The 2013 Nissan Cube has a four-cylinder engine, and most reviewers said there is sufficient power around town, but some mentioned that acceleration to highway speeds is not very brisk. A six-speed manual transmission is standard but some test drivers said the Cube feels peppier with the available automatic transmission (CVT). Equipped with the CVT, the 2013 Cube gets an EPA-estimated 27/31 mpg city/highway, which is mid-pack for the class. Reviewers said the Cube has well-weighted steering and is easy to handle in tight spaces. They added that Cube’s ride is comfortable, but said that it isn't all that fun to drive.

Test drivers said the 2013 Nissan Cube’s cabin has basic materials and unique design elements throughout, such as a patterned headliner. Reviewers thought the Cube’s seats are comfortable and spacious, and that outward visibility is decent in all directions. Auto writers added that there's plenty of head- and legroom in the back seats. The 2013 Nissan Cube has 58.1 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded, which is spacious for the class. The 2013 Nissan Cube comes standard with Bluetooth, while a touch-screen navigation system, a rearview camera, a USB port and push-button start are available. Reviewers said that the climate and audio controls are user-friendly and logically arranged.

Reviewers said the 2013 Scion xB is easy to park in tight spots and has plenty of rear-seat space. The xB has among the most cargo space in the class.
