2010 Nissan Armada Overview

When it was new, most critics said the 2010 Armada had ample engine power and good handling. They noted, however, that even in a class known for bad fuel economy, the Armada stands out, and not in a good way.

The 2010 Nissan Armada is powered by a 5.6-liter V8 that’s paired to either rear- or four-wheel drive. Fuel economy for either drivetrain is an EPA-estimated 12/18 mpg city/highway. Maximum towing capacity is 9,100 pounds, which is typical for 2010 large SUVs. The Armada has 97.1 cubic feet for cargo, which is less than what many competitors offer.

The Armada can seat up to eight people, and reviewers mostly found the seats to be comfortable, though some said the third row felt cramped, which is fairly typical for third rows. Still, the Armada saw few changes since 2004, and reviewers said that its interior fit and finish lagged behind that of more recently-updated competitors. The Armada comes standard with cloth seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and an eight-speaker stereo with a CD changer and auxiliary input jack. Features available on upper trims include heated leather seats, a backup camera, power-folding third-row seats, Bluetooth, a Bose stereo, navigation and a power rear liftgate.

Other Cars to Consider

The 2010 GMC Yukon is one alternative worth considering. Reviewers liked the Yukon’s high-quality interior and available luxury trimmings. The Yukon also offers better fuel economy than the Armada. The Yukon can carry more cargo, while the long-wheelbase Yukon XL ups cargo capacity even more.

Another alternative to consider is the 2010 Toyota Sequoia, which ranks highly for its good build quality. Unlike the Armada, some critics said the Sequoia’s third row was comfortable for adults. Keep in mind that some test drivers noted it was hard to reach the controls on the center stack, but despite this, most said the Sequoia is a solid choice.
