Out With the Old and In With the New

The Jeep Wrangler has one of the most recognizable exterior designs in automotive history. You see the two (or four) doors, boxy design, and extra wheel hanging off the back and you know what it is immediately. Jeep has consistently improved on this design since the Jeep CJ, based off of the Willys Jeep, was introduced to the public in the 1940s. The redesigned 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL may boast significant updates, but it has not messed with the SUV’s basic style.

One of the most capable off-road vehicles in the world, the Wrangler is rugged. It still offers drivers a body-on-frame construction that can go with ease to where others don’t even dare. Purists may disagree that the Wrangler needs a redesign at all, but the Wrangler JK (which has been around since 2006) was aging and falling in our compact SUV rankings. The new JL looks to put the Wrangler back on par with other SUVs, at least in terms of modern amenities.
