Shop These Brands If You Want a Long-Lasting Vehicle

Everybody has their own list of priorities when shopping for a new vehicle. Price is often one of the most important factors. Some people are looking for safety, where others prioritize performance. Some want a car filled with all the latest tech, while others want a car with as few distractions as possible. But there’s one thing pretty much everybody wants: a reliable set of wheels.

J.D. Power rates individual vehicles for predicted reliability on a scale of 1 to 5. This score is one of the factors in the U.S. News new car rankings. We wondered which automakers had the highest reliability scores across all their vehicles, so we averaged the scores and found the top 10 brands. While the most reliable car brands tend to be pricier, there are several companies on this list whose vehicles carry more affordable price tags.

As new information becomes available, U.S. News scores do change. Therefore, the rankings mentioned in this slideshow might not match the rankings in our reviews.
