2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Overview

Is the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander a Good Used SUV?

No, the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander isn't a good compact SUV. For one, it takes quite some time for it to get up to speed, and when pushed hard, its continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) causes the engine to make a loud droning noise. This crossover has one of the worst possible reliability ratings, and inside, you'll find low-rent materials. It has good safety scores and fuel economy estimates, but that's simply not enough to make it a competitive choice in the class.

These include a standard rearview camera and a larger 7-inch touch screen, as well as available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, it has refreshed exterior styling, a retuned suspension, an available plug-in hybrid model, and an improved continuously variable automatic transmission. Though neither SUV is a good purchase, the additional features of the 2019 Outlander make it a better option than the 2015 model.

Which Model Year of the Mitsubishi Outlander Is Best?

The 2015 Outlander is part of a generation that debuted for the 2014 model year. What Does Mitsubishi's Certified Pre-Owned Warranty Cover?

Mitsubishi offers a certified pre-owned program for vehicles five years old or less and with fewer than 60,000 miles. Eligibility is determined by the vehicle’s initial sale date. Mitsubishi certified pre-owned vehicles receive the balance of the original new-car 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Each CPO Mitsubishi must pass a 123-point inspection. 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Versus the Competition

Which Is Better: 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander or 2015 Ford Escape?

The 2015 Ford Escape has a far stronger engine lineup than the Outlander. The Ford’s base engine has a good amount of power for your everyday travels, and the two available turbocharged engines pack a more powerful punch. Beyond that, the Escape offers a comfortable ride and agile handling. Its first-rate cabin materials and slightly larger cargo area are added bonuses. The Outlander has an extra row of seats, but that’s not enough to recommend it over the far superior Escape.

Which Is Better: 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander or 2015 Honda CR-V?

The 2015 Honda CR-V is a well-rounded SUV that has great fuel economy, a comfortable ride, and one of the most expansive cargo areas in the class. The CR-V also has more standard features than the Outlander, such as a rearview camera. The Outlander offers a slightly stronger V6 engine and a third row of seats for two extra occupants, but the CR-V is still a better choice overall.

Which Is Better: 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander or 2015 Nissan Rogue?

The Nissan Rogue is a better compact SUV than the Outlander. It has a larger maximum cargo capacity and slightly more third-row legroom than the Mitsubishi. It also boasts a classy interior and higher fuel economy estimates than the Outlander. The Rogue’s average price is higher than the Outlander’s, but it's worth it.

2015 Outlander Performance

How Does the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Drive?

The Outlander isn’t the most agile compact SUV, but it’s still fairly composed. The standard 166-horsepower four-cylinder engine is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). This setup provides decent power for commuting around town, but it struggles to accelerate up to speed on the highway. The CVT also makes the engine noisy when pushed hard.

A 224-horsepower V6 is also available, and it comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Reviewers claim that the upgraded powertrain doesn't improve acceleration much more than the base setup.

Does the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Get Good Gas Mileage?

The 2015 Outlander gets 25 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. These are good estimates for the class. Models with all-wheel drive get 1 less mpg both in the city and on the highway. With the V6 engine, the Outlander delivers 20/27 mpg city/highway.
