Test drivers say that the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer's cabin has a dull, outdated design and is built with cheap, hard plastics. The Lancer has a little trunk for the class, and some reviewers report that its touch-screen infotainment system could use more physical buttons, though others test drivers say the available Rockford Fosgate audio system has great sound quality.

The five-seat Lancer is available with leather seats and heated front seats. Some reviewers find the front seats supportive and say the driving position is ideally suited to spirited driving. However, others complain that the lack of a telescoping steering wheel makes it hard to get comfortable behind the wheel. Most auto writers say that the back seat has ample legroom.

Interior Features

A four-speaker audio system, Bluetooth and an auxiliary input are standard in the 2015 Lancer. Optional features include automatic climate control, a 6.1-inch touch-screen audio system, navigation with a 7-inch touch screen, a nine-speaker Rockford Fosgate audio system, a rearview camera, HD Radio, Mitsubishi's Fuse voice command system and a USB port.

Auto journalists report that Fuse works well and that sound quality is impressive with the Rockford Fosgate audio system. Some say that the touch-screen audio system is straightforward to operate, but could use sharper graphics. However, some reviewers wish that the stereo had more physical buttons and knobs for basic adjustments.

The Lancer sedan has a 60/40-split rear seat and 12.3 cubic feet of trunk space, which is a bit low for the class. Models with an optional subwoofer have 11.8 cubic feet and the Lancer Ralliart has 9.1 cubic feet of space. The Lancer Evolution has 6.9 cubic feet of trunk space, and test drivers note that it doesn’t have much trunk space for larger items.
