2011 Mitsubishi Galant Overview

The 2011 Mitsubishi Galant’s performance is one of its main letdowns. Reviewers said its one and only engine, a four-cylinder, delivered less power than rivals’ four-cylinder engines and that it was noisy and unrefined. On the inside, they noted its low-quality materials and shoddy fit and finish, agreeing that the Galant lacked the interior refinement of many rival midsize cars.

The front-wheel drive 2011 Mitsubishi Galant has a four-cylinder engine and a four-speed automatic transmission. At 21/30 mpg city/highway, the Galant’s fuel economy is a tad low for the class. A six-speaker stereo and cruise control come standard on the base model. The upper SE trim adds a sunroof, backup camera, heated front seats, Bluetooth, an upgraded stereo and navigation to the list of standard features. Six airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control and electronic stability control are included as standard safety equipment on the 2011 Galant.

Other Cars to Consider

With improved fuel economy and sleek styling, as well as a spacious, well-equipped interior, reviewers loved the redesigned 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Additionally, the 2011 Sonata tops the Galant with better fuel economy estimates and a higher safety score.

Like the Galant, the 2011 Toyota Camry has a large interior, but reviewers said its cabin materials were much nicer than those found in the Galant. The 2011 Galant does not offer a V6 engine, but the Camry’s available V6 was one of its strong suits when it was new. Test drivers praised the Camry’s V6 power and the car’s overall comfortable ride.
