2010 Mitsubishi Eclipse Overview

The base 2010 Eclipse GS is equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces up to 162 horsepower. The GS comes with a five-speed manual transmission, or an available four-speed automatic. The Eclipse GT has a 265-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 engine, which is paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic. Test drivers said the Eclipse doesn’t have enough power with the base engine. Instead, they suggested the V6 for more power and a better driving experience. Test drivers said the ride on the Eclipse is comfortable and smooth, but also unexciting, especially in comparison to better-handling affordable sports cars. The Eclipse gets up to 20/28 mpg city/highway, which is slightly better than the class average.

Reviewers liked the straightforward design of the Eclipse’s interior, and most said that the front seats are very comfortable. However, they also noted that the back seats are best left for children. The Eclipse has 15.7 cubic feet of cargo space, which is more than most affordable sports cars. The 2010 Mitsubishi Eclipse comes standard with keyless entry, cruise control, full power accessories and a six-speaker audio system with a CD player. Available features include a sunroof, Bluetooth, a backup camera, heated front seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control and a power driver’s seat.

The 2010 Ford Mustang is a reliable sports car with a stellar safety score, and it’s available with three engine choices that reviewers liked. Additionally, test drivers said that the Mustang’s front seats are comfortable and supportive, just like the Eclipse.
