2007 Mercedes-Benz M-Class Warranty

The M-Class comes with the Mercedes limited warranty, which runs for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.

According to USA Today, "Consumer Reports magazine puts the 1998-2004 M-Class in its 'used cars to avoid' list because of a troublesome history. In fact, M is a repeat offender and also goes onto the magazine's 'bad bets' list, reserved for vehicles that 'have shown several years of much-worse-than-average overall reliability.'"

The Detroit Free Press reports that the two 2006 M-Classes the reviewer test-drove suffered from quality problems: "The power steering on the $62,795 ML500 I was testing had a catastrophic failure," the reviewer says. "The failure was catastrophic in the sense that it was sudden and complete, and it took all the strength in both my arms to slowly turn the 4,743-pound SUV around ... This really shouldn't be a problem for anyone else buying the new M-class, Mercedes officials assured me later. A defective clamp was used on the power steering hoses of some early-production units of the new M-class." Other problems the reviewer describes with the V8 ML500 and V6 ML350 include a faulty satellite radio receiver and a loose plastic faceplate on the DVD player in the back seat.
