2019 Lincoln Navigator Interior Review

Interior: 9.2

The 2019 Lincoln Navigator has one of the nicest interiors in the class, with high-quality materials throughout the cabin and roomy seats in all three rows. It also boasts a long list of standard features and one of the largest cargo capacities in the segment.

  • "The Navigator has interior room in spades, and its smart design maximizes ease of entry." -- Edmunds
  • The quality of the furnishings would not be out of place on a vehicle costing much more than the Navigator's sticker price. In fact, the experience inside is easily a two-model generation advance over the last Navigator." -- Autoweek (2018)
  • Its on-road behavior is solid enough, but Lincoln did its best work in the 2018 Navigator's cabin. Not only is it pleasant on the eyes, it's pleasant to occupy as well, starting with the near complete absence of noise and vibration being passed into the well-insulated cabin." -- Automobile Magazine (2018)

Opting for the second-row bench will get you eight seats in the cabin, and models with captain's chairs can fit seven people. All Navigators come with heated, leather first- and second-row seats and 10-way power-adjustable front seats. Available features include a heated steering wheel, and front seats featuring 24- and 30-way power adjustments, ventilation, and massage functionality.

All three rows can recline and provide plenty of space for adults. If you can foot the bill, some reviewers recommend going all out with the 30-way power-adjustable seats with heat and ventilation.

Depending on the seating configuration, there are two or three complete sets of LATCH car-seat connectors in the second row of the Navigator. The third-row outboard seats each have full LATCH systems.

  • "There's no shortage of space. The second row feels like another set of front seats, especially with the dual captain's chairs and a large center console. The third row has decent space for adults, and the seats are high off the floor, so your knees aren't level with your chest." -- Edmunds
  • "The focus on comfort is clear. Ten-way power heated seats are standard. But you'll want to spend the $1500 on Lincoln's 30-way, massaging, heating and cooling seats. They are some of the best thrones on any SUV we've encountered. Room in the rear seats is an equally decadent experience with soft lounges of leather and optional dual 10-inch monitors that can stream content from just about anything, including your home TV if you happen to own a Slingbox." -- Autoweek (2018)
  • Second-row seats can be a bench for three, two captain's chairs with an aisle down the middle, or with a huge center console with independent entertainment and climate controls. The third row can seat three adults." -- Kelley Blue Book (2018)

Interior Features

The SYNC 3 infotainment system comes standard in the Navigator and includes a 10-inch touch screen, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 14-speaker Revel audio system, satellite radio, and six USB ports. Other standard features include tri-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, MyKey, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert.

Available features include a rear-seat entertainment system, wireless device charging, an adaptive suspension system, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, parallel and perpendicular park assist, a head-up display, collision mitigation, and lane departure warning.

The Navigator has an exhaustive list of standard and available features. Its user-friendly infotainment system features a large screen and easy-to-read menus, but its graphics could be sharper.

  • "With an excellent infotainment interface, superb sound-system quality, comprehensive driving aids and ample device-charging options, the Navigator has embraced the latest technology without reservation. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a Wi-Fi hotspot are icing on the cake." -- Edmunds
  • "The dash is dominated by a 10-inch touch screen with enormous, easy-to-see-and-use icons, especially when using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The dash itself is classy and elegant, and we like the center console 'island' that doesn't quite reach the dash." -- Kelley Blue Book (2018)
  • "If there's one thing you can ding the screen for, it's the mildly differentiated graphics, which are identifiably Ford-based. A better mask, something more in keeping with the rest of the interior design and the unique instrument cluster graphics, would be welcome." -- Motor Trend (2018)

The Navigator has tons of cargo space. There's 19.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, 63.6 cubic feet with the third row folded, and 103.3 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded. Cargo flexibility is limited in models with the second-row center console. A hands-free power liftgate is standard, and all rows are power folding.

  • It's giant inside. All the rear seats fold flat electronically. The second-row center console sits higher than the seat bottoms, though, which prevents a fully flat load area." -- Edmunds
  • "Behind that last seat, Lincoln has developed a smart-tiered cargo management system too with a partition that can be installed as a parcel shelf or a tailgate." -- Autoweek (2018)
  • "The second and third rows flatten at the press of a couple buttons but the second row console remains there like an island in a stream; Temper your dreams of hauling sheetrock in style. That's not why you buy a Navigator, but there will be the occasional weekend when you're confounded that you own something this big and still have to rent a truck to move a sofa." -- CNET (2018)
