2010 Lincoln Navigator Overview

When it was new, reviewers said the 2010 Navigator had a comfortable and spacious interior, making it one of the more practical-minded choices in the class. They noted, however, that the Navigator’s handling fell short of competitors like the 2010 Cadillac Escalade.

Powering the 2010 Navigator is a 5.4-liter V8 engine that reviewers weren’t all that impressed with. They said that the Navigator doesn’t accelerate with authority the way its competitors do. Fuel economy, though, is fairly good for the class, at 14/20 mpg city/highway for a base model with rear-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive is available. The Navigator can tow up to 9,000 pounds, which is among the highest ratings in the class. If the base model’s 103.3 cubic feet of cargo space isn’t enough, the long-wheelbase Navigator L increases that number to 128.2, giving it one of the most cavernous interiors in the class. Reviewers also liked the Navigator’s power-folding third row, which makes it easy to maximize cargo space.

The Navigator can seat up to eight when equipped with a middle-row bench seat. Reviewers found all seats to be spacious and comfortable, even in the third row. Standard features include leather upholstery, Ford’s Sync infotainment system, Bluetooth, power-folding running boards, a backup camera and dual-zone climate control. Higher trim levels and option packages add features like navigation and a rear-seat entertainment system.

Other Cars to Consider

If you’re looking at the Navigator, be sure to check out the 2010 Cadillac Escalade also. Reviewers said the Escalade has better power and handling than the Navigator, which makes the Escalade more pleasing to drive. Keep in mind that the Escalade’s third row doesn’t fold fully flat, so in order to make the most of its available cargo space, you have to remove it.

Another alternative to consider is the 2010 Infiniti QX. Reviewers said that the QX is a practical and luxurious SUV with a strong tow rating. They also preferred its power and handling in comparison with the Navigator. You’ll give up a little cargo space, but if you’re not thrilled with the Navigator’s handling, the QX may be worth a look.
