Buying Advice

Last Updated: May 3, 2019

Low Sales: The Lincoln MKT is currently one of the slowest selling models in the luxury midsize SUV class. With its aging design, poor fuel economy, and lack of newer features, its lackluster sales numbers aren’t surprising. The MKT is currently being outsold by its higher-ranked sibling, the Lincoln Nautilus by over 6 to 1.

Low Prices: A base MKT costs $49,500, which is almost $5,200 below the average for the class. However, there are some better-ranked options, like the Lexus RX or the Acura MDX, with starting prices that are several thousand dollars less than the MKT.

Time to Buy: With low pricing and very weak demand, now is a great time to save big on the MKT. Still, we suggest looking at all of your options before settling on a MKT. The Lexus RX, winner of our 2019 Best Luxury 2-Row SUV for the Money award, is an excellent choice that costs less. If you want an even lower price, consider the Cadillac XT5. At $41,695, it has one of the lowest starting prices in the class. Use the U.S. News Best Price Program to find the lowest price in your area for any of these SUVs. This month’s Lexus deals and Cadillac deals can help you save on the RX or XT5.
