Which Model Year of the Lincoln MKT Is Best?

The 2015 MKT belongs to a generation that launched for 2010. We recommend going with a 2016-or-newer MKT. For 2016, Ford replaced the finicky MyLincoln Touch with the SYNC 3 infotainment system. This interface is much easier to use, and it comes with more features, such as smartphone integration. The cherry on top is the 2016's price. On our site, the average price of a 2016 MKT is almost $2,000 less than a 2015 model.

Which Used Lincoln MKT Is Right for Me?

The 2015 MKT comes in two trims: base and EcoBoost. A key difference between these models is what's under the hood. A 303-horsepower V6 powers the base MKT, and a 365-horsepower turbocharged V6 propels the EcoBoost model. Both can launch this luxury midsize SUV quickly. They are also powerful enough to handle a full load, though you do get an extra kick from the turbocharged engine. The EcoBoost edition also offers extra grip, as it comes standard with all-wheel drive, while the base is only available as a front-wheel-drive SUV.

These trims are nearly identical when it comes to interior amenities. Standard features include heated and cooled front seats, leather upholstery, an 8-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, satellite radio, remote start, keyless entry, tri-zone automatic climate control, automatic headlights, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, a power liftgate, and a sunroof.

What Does Lincoln's Certified Pre-Owned Warranty Cover?

Lincoln offers a certified pre-owned program for vehicles six years old or less and with fewer than 80,000 miles. Eligibility is determined by the vehicle’s initial sale date. For its certified pre-owned vehicles, Lincoln extends its original new-car warranty to six years from the original sale date or 100,000 miles. Lincoln puts its CPO vehicles through a 200-point inspection. Additional benefits like vehicle history reports, towing, and roadside assistance may be available, so read the Lincoln warranty page carefully.

Lincoln has one of the least robust CPO programs among luxury carmakers, according to our analysis. Better programs are available through competitors like Cadillac, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz.

The Technology package adds adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, and parallel park assist. The Elite package comes with blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.

2015 Lincoln MKT Versus the Competition

Which Is Better: 2015 Lincoln MKT or 2015 Ford Flex?

The 2015 Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT share the same vehicle platform and engines. As a result, both offer similar fuel economy, a smooth ride quality, and many of the same safety and convenience features. The MKT is much more luxurious inside. If that isn't a priority for you, pick the Flex, which has a lower average price than the Lincoln by about $5,000. You'll also get more cargo space and rear-seat headroom in the Flex, in large part because of its boxier design.

Which Is Better: 2015 Lincoln MKT or 2015 Acura MDX?

The 2015 Acura MDX is a popular choice among SUV shoppers thanks to its crisp interior and exterior styling, carlike handling, good fuel economy (up to 20/28 mpg), and excellent safety ratings. In fact, the MDX has the best combination of quality and value among 2015 luxury midsize SUVs, which is why it won our award as the 2015 Best Luxury 3-Row SUV for the Money.

2015 MKT Performance

How Does the 2015 Lincoln MKT Drive?

With the 2015 MKT's standard 303-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine, the MKT accelerates quickly and doesn't feel bogged down when every seat is filled. A 365-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 is available. This engine gets the MKT up to speed even faster.

On the highway, the MKT is composed and very comfortable with either suspension system. Its brakes are strong and it's easy to drive, though its body does lean a bit if you are speeding through sharp corners. The base V6 is paired with front-wheel drive, while the upgraded engine comes with all-wheel drive and an upgraded suspension.

Does the 2015 Lincoln MKT Get Good Gas Mileage?

The MKT gets 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, which is a shade below average for a three-row SUV. The all-wheel-drive MKT EcoBoost gets 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway, adding $250 to annual fuel expenses for the average driver.

How Many People Does the 2015 MKT Seat?

The 2015 MKT seats seven people in three rows. Captain’s chairs are available for the second row, reducing the seating capacity to six but adding a refrigerated center console. Leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats, and heated rear seats are standard, while cooled rear seats are available.

The first two rows are spacious and offer comfortable seats. The third row comes with a generous amount of legroom for an SUV this size, but the sloping roofline creates a cramped space that's best suited for pint-sized passengers. Quality materials are plentiful, and the cabin is remarkably quiet.

How Many Car Seats Fit in the 2015 Lincoln MKT?

There are three full sets of LATCH connectors for securing child car seats.

2015 Lincoln MKT Features

The MKT gets a lot of complaints for its MyLincoln Touch infotainment system. Though some changes over the years have improved its performance, this interface isn't very intuitive, and its touch-sensitive buttons can be difficult to use. It is worth noting that 2016-and-newer models have the much improved SYNC 3 infotainment system.

Standard features in the MKT include an 8-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, voice recognition, satellite radio, USB ports, and Lincoln's MyKey, which allows you to do things like set audio volume and vehicle speed limits and keep tabs on secondary drivers. Available features include a navigation system and rear-seat DVD players.
