2012 Lexus RX Hybrid Overview

The Lexus RX 450h is powered by a gasoline V6 engine and two electric motors (three in all-wheel drive models), and reviewers said that the RX 450h has ample power for highway passing maneuvers. The standard continuously variable transmission (CVT) earned praise for its responsiveness, and critics agreed that transitions between gas and electric power are seamless. The 2012 RX 450h earns up to an EPA-estimated 32/28 mpg city/highway, which is excellent for a luxury midsize SUV. Most critics agreed that the RX 450h is not especially nimble, but they said it has a comfortable ride and strong brakes with good pedal feel.

When it was new, reviewers said the 2012 Lexus RX 450h features a quiet cabin that’s built with soft-touch materials. They wrote that the front seats are roomy and remarkably comfortable, adding that the back seats are unusually spacious. Standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, rear seats that slide and recline, keyless access, push-button start and a nine-speaker stereo system. A 15-speaker Mark Levinson stereo system, adaptive cruise control, navigation, a rearview camera, a USB port, Bluetooth and a rear-seat entertainment system are available. The RX 450h offers up to 80.3 cubic feet of cargo space, which is good compared with what other two-row SUVs offer.
