2020 Lexus RC Interior

The 2020 Lexus RC has a high-quality cabin and comfortable front seats. However, the second row and trunk are small, and the infotainment controls can be confusing.

Seating

The Lexus RC seats four people. The front seats are comfortable and offer well-positioned side support. However, front headroom can be tight for taller people, and there are some noticeable blind spots. The second row is very cramped.

Synthetic leather upholstery, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat are standard. Optional features include leather upholstery, driver's seat memory settings, heated and ventilated front seats, front sport seats, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and a heated steering wheel.

For securing child safety seats, there are two complete sets of LATCH connectors for the rear outboard seats. The lower anchors are easy to find, and it's simple to attach the car-seat straps.

Interior Features

Standard features in the 2020 RC include dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, and a rearview camera. The standard infotainment system includes a 7-inch screen, Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Bluetooth, a USB port, and a 10-speaker stereo. Options include a 10.3-inch infotainment screen, navigation, a moonroof, and a 17-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound stereo.

Both of the RC's infotainment setups are troublesome. The standard screen is set far back on the dashboard and is hard to see. The larger display is crisper, but it’s operated with an unintuitive touchpad controller. Using the system while driving can be distracting and difficult.

Standard driver assistance features include forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights.

Optional safety features include blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and front and rear parking sensors.

Cargo

The Lexus RC has 10.4 cubic feet of trunk space, which is low for a luxury small car. However, the trunk opening is wide, and a standard split-folding rear seat adds utility.
