2013 Lexus LX Overview

The 2013 Lexus LX 570 comes standard with a V8 engine, a six-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. Reviewers noted that the LX has surprisingly strong acceleration for a large vehicle. It gets an EPA-estimated 12/17 mpg city/highway, which is low for the class. Test drivers said that the 2013 LX 570 handles with poise, despite its heft, thanks in part to its standard adjustable suspension system. Reviewers also wrote that the LX is a great off-road SUV capable of crossing rough terrain.

Though some noted that it lacks the extravagant materials of rival SUVs, most critics said the 2013 Lexus LX has a handsome interior that’s outfitted with upscale materials. Like many competitors, the LX earned praise for its spacious first- and second-row seats, but critics noted that the third row is only large enough for children to sit comfortably. The LX's cargo space is lower than that of most other three-row SUVs in the class. Standard features in the 2013 Lexus LX 570 include leather upholstery, heated front seats, satellite radio, a USB port, Bluetooth, a rearview camera, quad-zone automatic climate control and a touch-screen infotainment system with navigation. Available features include ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system, wide-view front and side cameras, a cooled compartment for drinks, adaptive cruise control and a 19-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound audio system. Test drivers reported that the LX’s touch-screen infotainment system is intuitive and the Mark Levinson audio system delivers excellent sound.

The diesel-powered 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL350 gets superb fuel economy for the class, and it has more cargo space than the LX. Reviewers remarked that the GL-Class is one of the most nimble SUVs in its class.

Test drivers said the 2013 Cadillac Escalade has very strong acceleration and a classy interior. The Escalade also gets better gas mileage than the Lexus LX and offers significantly more cargo space.
