The 2019 Range Rover Sport is full of premium materials. Its cabin is quiet and elegant, from the wood trim to the leather upholstery. While it doesn’t quite reach the quality of the regular Range Rover, its interior is still befitting the Land Rover name. The cabin has plenty of space all around, except in the optional third row. On the downside, the cargo hold is one of the smallest in the class, and the infotainment system could use some improvements.

Seating

The standard Range Rover Sport seats five people in its standard configuration, but it can be raised to seven with an optional third row. Leather seats and 14-way power-adjustable front seats are standard. Upgrades include additional power adjustments, ventilated and heated front seats, heated rear seats, higher-quality leather upholstery, and a heated steering wheel.

The front seats are comfortable with several ways of adjustment, but larger drivers may feel confined by the seat bolsters. The second row also has plenty of space for adults, but the third row is very limited on space. We would recommend them for kids only, but even they might feel a little cramped back there. There are two complete sets of LATCH connectors on the rear outboard seats.

Interior Features

The base Land Rover Range Rover Sport SE has a nice list of standard features, including push-button start, proximity keyless entry, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The Touch Pro Duo infotainment system also comes standard. It features with two 10-inch touch screens, navigation, HD Radio, satellite radio, an eight-speaker stereo, a USB port, and Bluetooth. You’ll also get a few standard safety features, such as a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, and lane departure warning.

Options include tri- or quad-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, Land Rover’s Activity Key (a waterproof wristband that lets you lock or unlock your vehicle), a rear-seat entertainment system with two 8-inch screens, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and an 11- or 19-speaker Meridian stereo. More safety features are available as well, including traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, a 350-degree camera with parking sensors, and parallel and perpendicular park assist.

The central touch screen is hard to reach from the driver’s seat, and some settings require multiple steps to adjust. The interface can also be slow to respond overall.

Cargo

With 24.8 cubic feet of space with the rear seats up and 56.8 cubic feet with them down, this vehicle has one of the smallest cargo holds in the class. However, a standard hands-free power liftgate makes it easier to load cargo, and the available third-row seats can easily fold into the floor.
