Reviewers felt that the 2009 Sedona lacked the interior quality and performance of other minivans.
There are three available trims on the Sedona: base, LX and EX. All come equipped with a 3.8-liter V6 engine that generates 250 horsepower. While reviewers generally approved of the engine’s performance when it was new, a few critics felt that the Sedona needed more power. The Sedona’s fuel economy and cargo space are similar to most minivans in the class.
The base Sedona comes loaded with features that normally cost extra. Satellite radio, an eight-speaker stereo with a USB port, cruise control and power windows all come standard. Available features include a back-seat DVD entertainment system, navigation, dual power-sliding doors and tri-zone air conditioning.

The 2008 Honda Odyssey is the better-looking alternative to the Sedona’s bland styling. Both have excellent safety ratings, but you should consider the Odyssey for its powerful engine, eight-passenger capacity and extensive interior features. As a result, the 2008 Odyssey performs better in nearly every aspect, which lead reviewers to believe the Odyssey was one of the best minivans to buy when it was new.
If you want a refined interior and good performance, you should consider the 2008 Toyota Sienna. The Sienna scored higher in nearly all categories, but didn’t perform as well in crash tests. If you don’t want to sacrifice interior quality, the Sienna should be on your list.
