King of the Mountain?

While Jeep’s most capable vehicle is the Wrangler Rubicon, the “Rubi” can’t compete with the Grand Cherokee on luxury and interior refinement. The Grand Cherokee’s strong suit is its blend of comfort and off-road capability.

The 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers two rows of spacious, comfortable seating and Jeep’s Uconnect infotainment system, which is easy to use and offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Engine options range from the standard 295-horsepower V6 to the monstrous 707-horsepower supercharged V8 in the Trackhawk trim. Other options include 360- and 475-horsepower V8s and a diesel V6. It also has multiple four-wheel drive and terrain management systems that allow it to drive where few other SUVs can go.

There are plenty of 2-row midsize SUVs on the market, and some have attributes that overlap with the Grand Cherokee’s. However, you don’t have to limit yourself to vehicles that match the Grand Cherokee’s specs exactly. Depending on which of the GC’s attributes you like, you might want a third row, or more luxury. You might be able to forgo the Grand Cherokee’s off-road chops.
