2010 Jaguar XK Overview

True to its nameplate, the 2010 Jaguar XK is a luxurious and masterfully engineered piece of machinery. It features a powerful, 385-horsepower V8 engine, an attractive exterior design that's been revised to look even more aggressive, and top-notch interior accommodations. Edmunds writes: "The power boost, additional standard equipment and more elegant-looking interior have made the XK fully competitive against already impressive players like the BMW 650i and M6, Mercedes-Benz SL550 and SL63 AMG, and Porsche's 911. It's also worth noting that the XK is less expensive than its principal competitors."

Still, the 2010 Jaguar XK is not perfect. Drawbacks include a cramped back seat and a somewhat confusing multimedia interface. These drawbacks, however, are minor when you take the 2010 Jaguar XK's full package into account.

Other Sports Cars to Consider

If you're in the market for a sporty cruiser that's luxurious too, test drive the 2010 BMW 6-Series -- which is also available in coupe and convertible body styles. For less refinement, but better sports performance and an even flashier exterior design, check out the 2010 Dodge Viper. While its Dodge nameplate doesn't carry the same clout as Jaguar, the Viper model instills fear and respect in many enthusiast circles. And though it was speculated that Dodge would nix the Viper in 2010, it lives.

The 2010 Jaguar XK is available in two body styles, coupe and convertible. A high-performance 2010 Jaguar XKR model is also available.

  • "The XK and cars like it - including the Mercedes-Benz SL550 and BMW 650i convertible - have very specific purposes that can be summed up in a few words: Get me where I need to go in comfort and style. Based on these criteria, the XK is a resounding success, and its quick acceleration and surprising athleticism even offer something for driving enthusiasts." -- Cars.com
  • "This is a handsome, elegant coupe that perfectly blends luxury and sportiness. The quintessentially British interior trappings are first-rate, and the ride is supple yet taut. Rear-seat space is a joke, but the rest of the XK is so nice that it can be forgiven." -- Car and Driver
  • "It is a beautifully sculpted sportscar that is as much a vehicle in which you can enjoy the ride, as it is one to show you have arrived." -- Left Lane News
  • "If you favor premium sports cars that match sensual design cues with outstanding creature comforts and you will happily trade a measure of brute force for more sophisticated ride and handling characteristics, the only choice you'll need to make is for a 2010 XK Coupe or an XK Convertible." -- Kelley Blue Book
