2013 Jaguar XF Overview

Is the 2013 Jaguar XF a Good Used Car?

A used 2013 XF is not a great luxury large car. While it does offer potent engines, they’re only available in pricier upper trims. Additionally, most competing cars have roomier seats, better fuel economy, higher reliability ratings, and advanced safety systems that the XF doesn’t offer.

Used 2013 Jaguar XF Performance and Interior

For 2013, the Jaguar XF received a new 240-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder base engine that generates just enough power to keep up with traffic around town or on the highway. An eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive are standard, and all-wheel drive is available. According to the EPA, the base XF achieves 19 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, which is on par with competitors’ fuel economy estimates.

The new-for-2013 XF 3.0A trim comes with a supercharged V6 engine that puts out 340 horsepower. For faster acceleration, seek out V8-powered Jaguar XF Supercharged, XFR, and XFR-S models. They put out 470, 510, and 550 horsepower, respectively. Performance-minded drivers will appreciate the XF’s lively handling, even in models with all-wheel drive. Additionally, the car’s ride is fairly comfortable for a large sports sedan.

The four-door, five-seat 2013 XF sedan features a handsome cabin that includes high-end materials and distinctive styling features, like rotating air vents and a gear selector dial that raises from the center console on start-up. Front-seat passengers have plenty of space, and the seats are comfortable. However, the sedan’s low roofline makes entry and exit difficult for both front and back-seat passengers. In addition, the low roof limits back-seat headroom. There are two sets of LATCH child-seat connectors in the outboard rear seats and an upper tether anchor in the middle seat.

Standard features include a moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, a 10-speaker stereo, a 7-inch touch screen, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, and a USB port. Some used models may come with voice-controlled navigation, an upgraded stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio, or a power rear sunshade. The XF’s dashboard gauges are easy to read. On the other hand, its small touch-screen display isn’t user friendly. The system responds slowly and requires multiple steps to make simple adjustments to climate and audio settings.

Is the 2013 XF the Best Model Year to Buy?

The 2013 Jaguar XF is part of a generation that began with the 2009 model year and ended with the 2015 model year.  A 2013 model may cost a little more than a 2011 XF or 2012 XF. However, its noteworthy updates may be worth the cost. Additions for 2013 include a more fuel-efficient turbocharged four-cylinder base engine, an available supercharged V6, a standard eight-speed automatic transmission to replace the previous six-speed, and available all-wheel drive.

Which Used Jaguar XF Is Right for Me?

To avoid any headaches down the road, consider a certified pre-owned vehicle. For its CPO vehicles, Jaguar extends the original new-car warranty to seven years or 100,000 miles. 2013 Jaguar XF and Other Cars to Consider

Which Is Better: 2013 Jaguar XF or 2013 Lexus GS?

As a luxury midsize car, the Lexus GS isn’t quite as roomy as the XF, but it’s a great sporty sedan. It has a perfect reliability score, more available active-safety features, and good crash test scores. The GS’ 306-horsepower V6 delivers potent acceleration from a stop, and it’s stronger than the base engine in the XF. On the road, the GS 350 has accurate steering, minimal body roll, and a smooth ride.

Which Is Better: 2013 Jaguar XF or 2013 BMW 5-Series?

The fun-to-drive BMW 5-Series has a little less trunk space than the XF, but it’s the better sedan. It has generous back-seat headroom, a user-friendly infotainment system, and excellent fuel economy estimates (24/33 mpg).
