Which Used Jaguar E-Pace Trim Is Right for Me?

The 2018 Jaguar E-Pace comes with one of two engines, and there are several trim levels. Since there’s not much difference in performance between the two engines, we suggest sticking with the base power plant. These models are usually less expensive to buy than models with the upgraded engine. However, you’ll want to focus on the S trim and up when buying. It adds leather upholstery and an upgraded infotainment system with navigation.

  • Jaguar E-Pace: The base E-Pace model comes with a 246-horsepower turbocharged engine, all-wheel drive, cloth upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, automatic emergency braking, driver drowsiness monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, lane keep assist, and a rearview camera. It also comes with an InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with a 10-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, five USB ports, and six speakers.
  • Jaguar E-Pace S: The S trim adds leather upholstery, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, parallel and perpendicular park assist, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and an upgraded infotainment system with navigation and InControl Apps.
  • Jaguar E-Pace SE: This trim adds 14-way power-adjustable front seats, a power liftgate, blind spot monitoring, and an 11-speaker Meridian audio system.
  • Jaguar E-Pace HSE: The HSE trim has 18-way power-adjustable front seats, a hands-free liftgate, keyless entry, and premium leather upholstery.
  • Jaguar E-Pace R-Dynamic: Each of the R-Dynamic trims come with a similar list of features to the regular S, SE, and HSE trims. Additionally, they have unique styling and a 296-horsepower turbocharged engine.
  • Jaguar E-Pace First Edition: If you can get your hands on a limited-production First Edition model, you'll get the base 246-horsepower engine as well as unique styling, a head-up display, Jaguar's Activity Key (a waterproof wristband that you can use to access your vehicle), satellite radio, and HD Radio.

What Does Jaguar’s Certified Pre-Owned Warranty Cover?

Jaguar offers a certified pre-owned program for vehicles five years old or less and with fewer than 60,000 miles. Eligibility is determined by the vehicle’s initial sale’s date. For its certified pre-owned vehicles, Jaguar extends the original new-car warranty to seven years or 100,000 miles. Every CPO Jaguar must pass a 165-point inspection. Additional benefits like towing and roadside assistance may be available, so read the Jaguar warranty page carefully.

According to our analysis, the Jaguar's CPO program is better than what BMW and Audi offer. Lexus and Volvo have slightly more robust CPO programs.

2018 Jaguar E-Pace Versus the Competition

Which Is Better: 2018 Jaguar E-Pace or 2018 Jaguar F-Pace?

The 2018 Jaguar F-Pace is essentially a larger E-Pace. This luxury compact SUV has a similar list of features, including standard all-wheel drive, as well as more passenger and cargo space. The F-Pace offers the same two four-cylinder engines as the E-Pace, as well as an available turbodiesel engine and a supercharged V6. The larger Jag also has sports-car-like handling. The F-Pace may cost more, but it's worth the extra cash.

Which Is Better: 2018 Jaguar E-Pace or 2018 BMW X1?

The 2018 BMW X1 is a better luxury subcompact SUV than the E-Pace. The X1’s engine is more refined than either of the E-Pace's engines. Additionally, the BMW has more responsive steering and nimbler handling, along with a much better predicted reliability rating and a richer interior with more space. The X1 is a better SUV, and you can likely purchase it for a lot less than the E-Pace.
