Pros & Cons

  • Powerful V8 engine

  • Comfortable interior with plenty of passenger room
  • Exterior styling that many find strange and bulky

2007 Infiniti QX56 Overview

The 2007 Infiniti QX56 is, according to reviewers, an unremarkable-looking SUV that offers comfortable seating for seven or eight and a powerful, refined ride. As Car and Driver puts it, "Instead of heavy breathing and hey-lookit-me decoration, the Infiniti delivers impeccable manners behind a forgettable face." Most test drivers are surprised by how small and responsive the QX56 feels for an SUV of its size. The QX56 is based on the same platform as the huge Nissan Armada, and shares similar styling. Edmunds suggests, "If the styling agrees with you, then the rest of this full-size luxury SUV should, too." Altogether, Forbes asserts that the QX56 "might be the most luxurious, comfortable and stylish SUV on the road today."

The QX56 is a luxury SUV and priced accordingly. Reviewers point out, however, that its extensive standard appointments help justify its substantial sticker price. Kelley Blue Book adds, "As for resale value, you won't lose any sleep worrying about the QX56. With better-than-average projected residual values at 24-, 36-, 48- and 60-month intervals, the QX56 holds its value better than the Cadillac Escalade ESV and Lincoln Navigator." IntelliChoice gives the QX56 a rating of "average" for its predicted five-year total cost of ownership compared to other vehicles in its class and declares it a "Best in Class Winner" for "lowest repair costs."
