Note: This performance review was created when the 2019 Infiniti Q60 was new.
Performance: | 7.7 |
While it has a strong twin-turbo V6 engine, the Infiniti Q60 is not as sporty as its exterior styling suggests. Its ride is a bit firm but remains comfortable over most road surfaces. Fuel economy is subpar for the class.
This coupe has a twin-turbo V6 engine that puts out 300 horsepower in all trims but the Red Sport 400, where it makes – you guessed it – 400 horsepower. A seven-speed automatic transmission is standard. While not heart-racing, the base engine is perfectly fine for city and highway driving. The more powerful version in the Red Sport model delivers a little extra punch.
The base Infiniti Q60 gets fuel estimates of 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Those figures are below average for the class.
The Q60’s ride is firm but still comfortable, and the coupe’s strong brakes and great road grip help it remain composed when the path gets twisty. You’re better off avoiding the optional adaptive steering, which feels numb and unnatural compared to the base Q60's steering. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available.
