Which Hyundai Crossover Is Right for You?

Hyundai, like a lot of other automakers, offers a plethora of SUVs for consumers to choose from. If you’re in the market for a compact SUV, the 2019 Hyundai Tucson is a good option. For those looking for something a little bigger in the midsize segment, the Korean automaker offers the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. These two SUVs may have a lot of differences in size, pricing, and performance, but they’re likely to be cross-shopped for being excellent value options.

The Santa Fe was one of our 2019 Best New Cars for Teens winners and a finalist for our 2019 Best 3-Row SUV for the Money award. Hyundai even split their midsize SUV into two options for 2019: a two-row version called the Santa Fe and a three-row variant dubbed the Santa Fe XL. Since the three-row Santa Fe XL has migrated to be its own model, this article will focus primarily on the two-row Santa Fe.

While not as dramatic as the update that the Santa Fe saw, the Tucson also received some revisions for 2019. The SUV’s exterior and interior have been slightly redesigned for a more upscale look, while more tech features have been added as standard.

In this slideshow, we’ll take a look at how the Tucson stacks up to the Santa Fe to find out which one is the better overall SUV based on U.S. News rankings. Keep in mind that some of the scores you see here won’t match up with ones on one of these SUV’s specific sites. That’s due to the way we constantly update scores based on newly available expert reviews and data.
