2009 Honda Accord Review

The 2009 Honda Accord is a highly-ranked 2009 midsize car that reviewers praised for its sporty performance and power, as well as its high-quality interior. The Accord also has an exceptional safety score.

Pros & Cons

  • Exceptional safety scores
  • Roomy interior
  • Sporty performance
  • Trunk is smaller than rivals’
  • Cluttered center stack
  • Available navigation system is confusing

2009 Honda Accord Overview

When it was new, auto critics liked the Accord’s relatively sporty handling, secure brakes and powerful available V6. They said it offered a good combination of space, comfort, upscale materials and good fuel economy. An Accord coupe is also available if you prefer two doors. Two four-cylinder engines and a V6 engine are available on the Accord sedan. Manual and automatic transmissions are also available. The Accord carries outstanding safety ratings.

Test drivers praised the Accord’s interior quality and roomy cabin, but they agreed that the Accord sedan’s limited trunk space and cluttered center stack were its pitfalls. Some also disliked the optional navigation system, saying it was counterintuitive and hard to use, however, most agreed that its seats were comfortable on long trips.

The Accord sedan comes standard with keyless entry, cruise control and a stereo with auxiliary input. Higher trims include features like a sunroof, leather seats, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats and an upgraded stereo. Six airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control and traction control are all standard on the 2009 Accord.

Other Cars to Consider

The 2009 Toyota Camry is practical and spacious, just like the 2009 Accord. When the 2009 Camry was new, reviewers praised its comfortable interior, saying it was modern and upscale. Many test drivers also liked its smooth performance, though they felt it wasn’t the most exciting car to drive.

If the 2009 Honda Accord’s driving dynamics aren’t sporty enough for you, check out the 2009 Mazda6, which was completely redesigned for 2009. Auto critics said it was one of the most fun-to-drive midsize cars when it was new, thanks to its agile handling and potent available V6 engine. The Mazda6’s bold styling helps it stand out from the pack of used 2009 family sedans, and its abundant passenger and cargo space will appeal to families who need lots of room.
