Honda vs Subaru: Battle of the Brands

2019 Honda Fit
2 of 20

Winner: Honda

Subaru has both the WRX and the BRZ performance models, so you might think that would tip the scales in Subaru’s favor. But when you average the performance of all the available models from each manufacturer, Honda has the edge. You might not consider Hondas as being all that sporty, but they have powertrains that do what needs to be done, from the little Honda Fit to the family-hauling Odyssey. And don’t forget the Honda Civic Type R, which has 306 horsepower, only 4 horses short of what you’ll find in the top-of-the-line WRX.

It was a close category, though. Honda’s average was 8.2, while Subaru clocked in at 8.0. So not even a quarter point difference in their performance averages. But Honda was higher across the board, so it wins the category.
