2018 Honda CR-V vs. 2018 Subaru Outback: Head to Head

Honda CR-V
2 of 14

Winner: Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V base trim is about $1,700 less than the base trim of the Subaru Outback, but it’s the upper trims where the difference becomes more apparent. For example, the CR-V EX, one level above basic, includes a full suite of safety tech for $27,050. The Outback Premium, which is also one step up from basic, is a tad more expensive at $27,995, but the EyeSight advanced safety system package is another $1,995.

If you’re more interested in all-wheel drive than blind spot monitoring, that is standard on all Outbacks. You can add it to any CR-V for about $1,400.
