2017 Honda CR-V
3 of 12

Safety

Winner: Inconclusive (Details Below)

Due to its redesign, neither the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have rated the CR-V for safety. Upper trims include a multitude of safety features, such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, and a collision mitigation system.

The IIHS awarded the Escape the top rating of Good in every test except for the small overlap front test, in which it scored Acceptable. It earned a five-star overall rating from the NHTSA, but only achieved four stars in the rollover test.

The Escape’s options include a drowsiness monitor, automatic high beams, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, and automatic pre-collision braking.
