2007 GMC Sierra 1500 Overview

The 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 receives accolades for its strong powertrain, smooth handling and long list of standard convenience and safety features. In fact, the Sierra 1500 is a recipient of the 2007 IntelliChoice "Best in Class Winner," for lowest fuel costs and lowest operating costs, and it is also recognized as an IntelliChoice "Smart Choice" for maintenance and operating costs. The 2007 Sierra 1500 is also one of Edmunds' "Consumers' Most Wanted" trucks. In addition, it is a Consumer Guide "Recommended" vehicle.

Available with one of three cabs, three cargo beds, six engines, five suspension and four interior packages, the GMC Sierra can be custom built to each buyer's specifications, and MarketWatch warns, "If you are fussy, you might want to pack a lunch when ordering at your dealer." Cars.com adds, "The varieties are overwhelming." However, aside from its performance and styling, this degree of modular construction is what makes the Sierra so desirable, and Consumer Guide says the Sierra is "among the best large pickup trucks for refinement and available features." The Sierra shares a platform and many components with the Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

While IntelliChoice gives the GMC Sierra 1500 a rating of "Excellent" for its predicted five-year total cost of ownership compared to other vehicles in its class, MarketWatch warns that the only deterrent to purchasing a Sierra may be its high price, which "qualified as a big gulp," but nevertheless it might be worth it due to the "many bells and whistles" the Sierra had when compared to its rivals.
