Buying Advice

Last Updated: January 17, 2019

Slow, but Warming Demand: The GMC Canyon sits near the back of the compact pickup truck class. The sales-leading Toyota Tacoma outsold the Canyon more than 7 to 1 last year. That said, dealerships moved 4.3 percent more Canyons in 2018 than during the in 2017.

Competitive Base Prices: The Canyon’s base-model with an automatic transmission costs $27,600 and is competitively priced in the segment. The top-tier model is priced above most fully-loaded rivals at $43,900.

Time to Buy: Despite a slight increase in sales last year compared to 2017, the Canyon falls near the back of the pack in terms of demand so prospective buyers may still be able to bargain for a lower price. Check out this month’s GMC deals for further savings.
