2009 Ford Fusion Overview

The 2009 Ford Fusion is a top-ranked car within 2009 midsize cars thanks to its outstanding safety scores, high-quality interior and engaging performance. When it was new, test drivers praised the Fusion’s strong brakes, sharp handling and strong available V6 engine. The 2009 Fusion’s trunk is one of the biggest in the class, and reviewers liked how comfortable and roomy the seats were. Reviewers also liked the Fusion’s high-tech Sync infotainment system, which was optional and standard on SE and SEL trims, in that order.

Anti-lock brakes, traction control, six airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system and an auxiliary audio input are standard on the 2009 Ford Fusion, while electronic stability control, voice-activated navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and Ford’s Sync voice-controlled infotainment system were options on most trim levels. The front-wheel drive Fusion has a four-cylinder engine and an available V6. A manual transmission is standard and an automatic is available. You’ll find all-wheel drive on SE and SEL Fusion models with a V6 engine. At 20/28 mpg city/highway with an automatic transmission, the Fusion’s fuel economy is slightly less than what most rivals get.
